Abstract: The echo of the Chernobyl, after 20 years, disaster resulted in a dramatic increase of thyroid cancer. For the inhabitants of Byansk, Tuly, Kaluzh and Orlov regions, the Russian government provides special Chernobyl registry: they can take interview of the thyroid gland.

Abstract: Even 20 years after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, public interest in the issues of radiation safety of the population and the personnel, working with ionizing radiation sources, (IRS) remains unabated. Special interest, with respect to the effects of radiation on human health and the environment, is the medical and social consequences of this exposure.
The aim of the work is to establish comparative risk assessment of the impact on the population, living in Oryol region, by various radiation sources.
