Abstract: Comparative evaluation of surface radioactivity of the Tomsk district and the Mercantour National Park (France) soils caused by transuranic elements and 137Cs. The isotope ratios 238Pu/239,240Pu, 239,240Pu/137Cs и 241Am/239,240Pu are calculated by specific activity which allows to define the most probable sources of appearance of radionuclides in atmosphere. Results of the work are used for evaluation of radiation situation and defining of anthropogenic radioactivity sources on the examined territory.

Author:  Tsvetnova O. B., Shcheglov A. I., Polyanskaya L. M.

Reference: Gazette “РАДИАЦИОННАЯ БИОЛОГИЯ. РАДИОЭКОЛОГИЯ “ (Radiation Biology, Radioecology), 2005

ISSN: 0869-8031

Keywords:  contamination, funghi, accumulation, distribution

Abstract: The authors examined 137Cs accumulation and distribution in different structures and tissues of Pleurotus ostreatus cultivated under laboratory conditions. The fungi were shown to concentrate 137Cs. A higher concentrations of the radionuclides in the fungi compared to their substrate is manifested at the first stages of the fruit body formation, the maximum content of137 Cs is accumulated by fungi in the middle of bearing stage. The fungus tissues are different by their accumulative capacity as follows (ascending range): central, more dense part of the stipe < stipe < mycelium < cap < generative tissues. 137Cs accumulation in the fruit bodies depends also on the fungus size and age.

ISSN: 0869-8031

Keywords: ecological community, plantation, landscape, migration of radionuclides, living biomass

Abstract: Below are presented the results of the research of the carrying-out of 90Sr and 137Cs by the overground phytomass of the fallow lands and meadows herbaceous community of Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (Zone). The radioecological characteristic of the basic cenosis-generative species of the Zone’s fallow lands and meadows herbaceous communities is given. Are made the evaluations of the biogenic fluxes of the radioactive matters into structural elements of the mentioned phytocenosises (alive biomass and laying). The radioecological significance of the Zone’s herbaceous phytocenosis is presented as one of the barters on the ways of the carrying-out of the radioactive nuclides out of the borders of the zone.

Abstract: In the present work algorithm of procreation of radionuclide migration in soil and its numerical embodying as imitative model of radiocesium behaviour in some volume of soil in microlandscape boundaries, including at irregular contamination and at presence of the expressed angle of lean of soil surface, are submitted. The model can also be applied at prediction of ecotoxicant redistribution in soil.

Abstract: Observation of meteorological situation during a dust storm, investigated  between 5th and 7th September 1992, in fields in Ukraine and Belarus affected by the Chernobyl accident. The maximum of average wind speed at Chernobyl and Pripyat was 10-12 m / s, gusts reached 20 m / s. The concentration of radioactive aerosols in the Chernobyl exclusion zone was increased by one to two orders of magnitude. Transfer of radioactive dust particles was registered in the vicinity of Vilnius.
