Abstract: The invention is related to methods for chemical decontamination of metal contaminated by radionuclides. The method of decontaminating surface of metal alloy, or its fragments, consists of application of reagent containing potassium, sodium and sulfur, subsequent heating of surface, its cooling, and purification from formed oxide scale. The invention improves the efficiency of the decontamination process, also reducing the time of deactivation and the amount of radioactive waste.
