Abstract: ► We evaluate the correlation of SOC with ²¹⁰Pb_ex and ¹³⁷Cs in forest environments. ► SOC shows strong and persistent affinity to ²¹⁰Pb_ex than ¹³⁷Cs. ► In forest soil, SOC and ²¹⁰Pb_ex are replenished continuously from natural sources. ► ²¹⁰Pb_ex model can help to trace SOC in forests around the world.
