Abstract: A prospective cohort study was carried out to investigate the health state of Belarusian children suffering from the Chernobyl accident. The main group consisted of 133 children permanently residing in the radioactively contaminated territories, while the control group was 186 children permanently residing in the territories with natural radiation background.
