Abstract: purpose of research: to investigate the hemato-immunological status of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, residing in eco-critical Donbass region and to develop methods for adequate correction. 1. To study, applying results of experiments on animals (white mongrel rats), the effect of low-intensity non-lethal radiation on the blood system and the possibility of its correction. 2. To study the dynamics of the immune system and the peripheral blood of liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, working in the mining industry of the Donbass. 3. To study the hemato-immunological status of the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, residing in the Donetsk region who do not work in the mining industry. 4. To study features of the hemato-immunological status of the conditionally healthy population of Donbass. To investigate the effectiveness recovery of the hemato-immunological status, by means of detoxification and immune-correction, of the liquidators and residents of eco-critical regions of Donbass and Donetsk.

Effect of low doses of incorporated plutonium-239 on the incidence of aneuploidy in human somatic cells

Author: Vasiliev Stanislav Anatolevich

Reference: Article, Tomsk, 2010

Keywords: genetics

For the first time, using interphase FISH-analysis, increased frequency of numerical chromosome abnormalities in peripheral blood lymphocytes among workers of nuclear-chemical production, under the influence of incorporated plutonium-239, is shown. Correlation of clastogenic and aneugenic effects in the overall impact of incorporated plutonium-239 on the chromosomes of human cells is detected.

Chromosomal aberrations, micronuclei and apoptosis in lymphocytes under radiation effects and other pathological conditions

Author: KOLYUBAEVA Svetlana Nikolaevna

Reference: Article, Obninsk, Russia, 2010

Abstract: Purpose of the study: to conduct clinical and experimental studies to evaluate genome damage of lymphocytes under development of pathological conditions caused by exposure to radiation in comparison with other damaging factors.

Subject of the present research are:

1. To study the frequency of chromosomal aberrations (CA) and micronuclei (MN) in peripheral blood lymphocytes after exposure in vitro.

2. To determine the dependence of induction of apoptotic lymphocytes by irradiation, using samples of human blood in vitro and experiments of laboratory animals in vivo.

3. To identify the dose dependence of stable CA in humans and monkeys by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).

4. To investigate the effect of irradiation on the level of CA and MN in patients with impaired thyroid homeostasis.  etc.

Radionuclide contamination territories in the Republic of Dagestan and evaluation of public exposure

Author: Kadieva Aliphan Yusupovich

Reference: Dissertation, Obninsk, 2010

Keywords: Republic of Dagestan

Abstract: Our aim is to rate annual and cumulative effective doses of the whole body of the population in the Republic of Dagestan on the basis of measurements of radioactive contamination of the soil, dose rate in air and information about soil types and diets in various regions of the Republic. Practically there are no published data on the levels of radioactive contamination of the Republic of Dagestan, which would be based on data of instrumental measurements, not only on data of mathematical modeling of transport of radioactive substances into the atmosphere after the Chernobyl accident. Therefore, refinement (correction), detailed research (detailing) and analysis of the real picture of radioactive fallout in the Republic of Dagestan, using research data of annual instrumental measurements after the Chernobyl accident (as well as in the pre-accident period), and assessments based on the radiation doses, are of urgent need.

The state of health of liquidators according to RSMDR (Russian State Medical Dosimetric Registry): dynamics of disease and its nosological structure

Author: AP Biryukov, SI Ivanov, NE Meskikh, ZG Kruglov

Reference: Радиация и риск (Radiation and Risk): 1999 Issue no. 11

Keywords: liquidators

Abstract: The present work is related to the first-discovered diseases among the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, for the period between 1991 and 1996. Analyses on incidences were conducted for the basic classes of diseases among the liquidators, from different regions in Russia, in comparison with identical diseases of the non-exposed population of Russia.

Evaluation of radiation and non-radiation risk non-neoplastic diseases of the thyroid gland by a case-control technology

Author: Vlasov DC, Schukina NV, Chekin SYu, Godko AM

Reference: Радиация и риск (Radiation and Risk): 2003 Number S1

Keywords: risk, a case-control

Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the existence of a statistical relationship between non-cancerous thyroid disease in the population of the Orel region with various environmental factors such as radiation due to contamination with radionuclides after the Chernobyl accident, as well as non-radiation factors. As for non-radiation factors, traditional study of iodine deficiency, as measured by the content of stable iodine in the urine, was carried out, as well as studies of the chemical nature of factors that lead to an increase in the number of genetic mutations or chromatid aberrations in human somatic cells.
